BYOG ( Bring your own garment) Natural dyeing workshop | Dublin
Where? Fumbally Lane, Dublin 8 When? Saturday the 28th of March 2020 Duration? About 4 hours Time? 11:00 to 15:00
In this creative workshop, we are giving a second life to what is considered "rubbish".
As part of my personal project #thecoloursofrubbish I'm hosting a series of natural dyeing workshops to show you how to dye your own garments with beautiful natural colours using food waste.
We are going to learn:
- How to wash and prepare the fibres to improve light and wash fastness. - How to prepare your dyebath and extract all the colour from three different dye materials. - How to record the process in your own journal so you can replicate the results at home. - And finally, we are going to dye our own garments using a few tie-dye knots so you can bring home your ownone of a kindgarment. If you prefer you can dye your piece using a solid colour.
This workshop is for beginners, so no previous knowledge is required and keep in mind that the process is a 100% hands-on.
+ We provide tea, coffee and light snacks to keep you going.
+ The garment needs to be made out of a natural fibers like; Cotton, linen, viscose, silk etc. If you don't have a garment we will provide a cotton tee.
Groups are small and tickets are non-refundable, so please make sure you’re able to attend or find someone else to take your spot.
